Living the Alaskan Lifestyle

My beautiful daughter in the red boots, is living in Alaska until October.  She has been gone almost 3 weeks now and I miss her so much.  She is managing a Hostel for the summer.

A Hostel is sleeping accommodations for travelers and backpackers.  You basically rent a bunk bed in a dormitory for $8.00 a night.  You can rent towels, use the kitchen and hang out in the common area for a movie or socializing.

This particular Hostel is on a working farm and guests can work a few hours to pay off their bunk.  It is hard work too.  The above photo left to right: owner, backpacker, owner, granddaughter of owner, my daughter, backpacker.
